Simple Groupware & CMS is an open source enterprise groupware that offers
email, calendaring, contacts, tasks, document management, project management, synchronization with Outlook and cell phones, full-text search, extensions and many more.
Simple Groupware is s free web based groupware solution written in PHP that combines standards like RSS, iCalendar, vCard, IMAP, POP3, SMTP, CIFS, CSV, WebDAV, LDAP and SyncML under one platform.
Unlike other groupware software, Simple Groupware contains the programming language sgsML to enable the quick customization and creation of powerful web applications. Simple Groupware is Free Software, released under the GNU GPLv2 License.
All features are available in the open source package, there is no commercial edition. Also support and documentation are available for free.

Simple Groupware 0.642 released - September 3, 2010
The updater was extended to handle update methods from extensions. Error handling was optimized for initializing IMAP connections. Fixes were applied to unicode names in the WebDAV server and uninstalling extensions.

Simple Groupware 0.641 released - August 25, 2010
The use of differential sgsML schemas was implemented. A new option was added to do an installation without demo folders. Date and time formats were changed in the Swedish translation. Persistent connections were disabled for SQLite. Department and project triggers were fixed.

Simple Groupware 0.640 released - August 22, 2010
A new extension manager was implemented. The URL syntax for folders was changed to view more than one folder. An option was added to create multiple folders at once. The free/busy view was moved to the preview pane. The default URI in the SOAP server was changed for Perl compatibility. A fix was applied to deleting rows in Simple Spreadsheet and binaries were moved to an extension.

Simple Groupware 0.630 released - August 3, 2010
New fields for risks and milestones were added to the task module. An option was implemented to use relative dates and times to create or edit assets (e.g. "next Friday" or "now +3 days"). Tooltips were added to the tree showing IDs and descriptions of the folders. Authentication handlers were expanded with logins from Google Apps. An option was implemented to customize sgsML schemas for a individual folder. The static help page linked in the top menu was moved to the CMS. Some smaller bugfixes were added. A change was applied to the WebDAV server fixing copy/paste in Windows7 Explorer.

Simple Groupware 0.625 released - July 2, 2010
A quick add button was implemented to make creating new assets faster. Buttons were added to take over tasks or attend appointments. The tree forms were cleaned up and a fix was applied to the calendar layout.

Layout changes were added for the iPad. Portal items for user, project or department templates were made configurable. Using custom classes for PHP based triggers was added to sgsML. The URL syntax for finding folder was extended. Drag and drop file upload was adapted to Safari.

Simple Groupware 0.621 released - May 28, 2010
An option was implemented to open views in a new window including selected items. A button was added to close tasks directly in the display view. Drag and drop file upload was adapted to Chrome. An option was included to use syslog instead of the built-in events module. The PmWiki content management engine was updated to the latest version.

Simple Groupware 0.620 released - May 16, 2010
A new directory structure was implemented to offer customizing without changing code or overwriting files. Also categories for the files module were added together with support for unicode filenames in POP3/IMAP attachments. Input validation was made easier by using regular expressions directly in sgsML. The Spanish translation was updated and a fix was applied to edit assets in merged folders.

IMAP folder operations were added to create, delete and rename folders. The requirements were increased to PHP 5.1.2 and some smaller code changes were applied.

Simple Groupware 0.610 released - April 20, 2010
Uploading new files with drag and drop was implementd (currently supported by Firefox 3.6+). A new function was added to create contact IDs automatically together with a trigger to execute system commands. Copy/paste mapping for emails and contact activities was added. Request parameters for Ajax were changed to improve compatibility with application firewalls. A fix was applied to the timesheet trigger.

Default filters were added to sgsML. An option was implemented to hide the tree and the menu automatically. Some HTML helper functions were added. The export function was changed to export only the current view. The Russian translation and the spreadsheet export library were updated. The database requirements were increased for MySQL (5.0+) and PostgreSQL (8.2+).

Compatibility was optimized for PHP 5.1. Timeouts for page rendering, database and cms can now be configured. Core classes and function templates were renamed. Storage functions were optimized to handle null values. A fix was applied to the calendar navigation.

Simple Groupware 0.600 released - January 24, 2010
A new SOAP server was implemented to provide remote access, including read, create and change datasets. Also folder notifications were added together with a hint to indicate that the current folder was changed by another user. Compatibility for IE6 was improved. A warning was added to the setup to report the absence of the mb_string extension. The maximum number of datasets per page can now be configured. Request parameters for Ajax requests were changed to improve compatibility with application firewalls. Some smaller bugfixes were added and compatibility with PHP 5.3 was improved.
